  1. Preparing young people for employment or career transitions is more difficult than ever and business schools must rise to the challenge. In the current climate, many of the best schools have re-allocated scarce resources to career advisory services as they correctly recognise the potential brand risk of unplaced or unhappy graduates. Lack of support in this area also has fund-raising implications. US schools have long seen the tangible link between supporting students’ career initiatives and their proclivity to donate in subsequent years. With all endowments under increased pressure, keeping the majority of students happy has new-found incentive.
